Peal de Becerro is a municipality belonging to the region of Sierra de Cazorla, located southeast of the province of Jaén and integrated in the Natural Park of Cazorla, Segura and Las Villas.

Paleolithic remains have been found near the village of Toya and at the confluence of the Guadiana Menor and Guadalquivir, as well as numerous vestiges of the Iberian period, also in Toya, among which there is an Iberian funerary chamber declared a National Historic Monument in 1918. The “Bicha de Toya”, which is an Iberian sculpture currently in the National Archaeological Museum in Madrid, was found inside.
